Percents show up everywhere in middle school math — conversions, proportions, real-world applications, percent change — and getting students enough practice across all of those skills usually means building several different worksheets from scratch. This free percent worksheet generator does it for you in seconds.

What It Does
The tool generates fully customized, printable percent worksheets organized by skill. Each section prints its own bold header and instruction line above the questions, exactly the way a formal handout or test looks. You set the question types you want, adjust the number of problems, and download a clean PDF ready to print.

Nine Question Types Covering the Full Percent Unit
The generator covers everything a middle school percent unit typically includes, organized from foundational skills to applied problem solving.
Percent to Decimal — Students convert percents like 35%, 12.5%, and 150% to their decimal equivalents. Clean values only — no repeating decimals.
Decimal to Percent — The reverse conversion. Students take decimals and express them as percents.
Fraction to Percent — Common fractions like 3/4, 2/5, and 7/8 converted to percent form. Every answer is a clean whole or half percent.
Percent to Fraction — Students write a percent as a fraction in simplest form. The generator applies GCD simplification automatically, so 25% becomes 1/4, not 25/100.
Percent of a Number — Classic "40% of 85" problems. Numbers are paired so the result is always a whole number — no messy decimals in the answer.
Find the Percent — "20 is what percent of 80?" Students reverse the percent-of-a-number process. Together with the previous type, these two cover all three positions in the percent proportion.
Find the Whole — "30 is 60% of what number?" Students isolate the base. This completes the percent proportion triangle and is one of the most commonly missed skills on state assessments.
Percent Change — Students calculate whether a change is an increase or decrease and express it as a percent. Problems use carefully chosen number pairs so the result is always a whole number percent.
Real-World Word Problems — Seven rotating templates covering sales tax, restaurant tips, store discounts, markups, test scores, and more. These always print in one column at full page width so the text is easy to read.
Built for How Teachers Actually Use Worksheets
Sections with instruction lines. Each question type prints its own title (Part A, Part B, Part C...) and a clear italic instruction above the questions. Students always know exactly what they are being asked to do.
Smart column layout. Short conversion questions like "35% = ___" fit neatly in three columns. Sentence-style questions like "80 is what percent of 200?" automatically cap at two columns so text never overflows into the next column. Word problems always print in a single column at full width.
Questions that fill complete rows. The generator automatically rounds your question count up to the nearest multiple of your column setting. If you choose 3 columns and type 5 questions, it generates 6 — so every row is full and there is never an awkward gap at the bottom of a section.
Row spacing control. A dedicated spacing slider lets you add as much vertical room between questions as your students need. Set it low for a compact review sheet or raise it for a test where students need space to show their work.
Three answer key options. Choose no answers for a clean student copy, inline answers for a teacher reference copy, or a separate answer page that prints at the end of the PDF — organized by section with three columns of numbered answers. Print the full document, keep the last page, and hand out the rest.
Portrait and landscape. Landscape works well for tablets or when projecting during a whole-class review.
